Ezekiel was not alluding to the Book of Mormon or the Bible. His subject matter was solely the reunification of the two split kingdoms.

He had reached the conclusion that anybody can make the Bible say whatever they want it to.
In his mind this had invalidated it as a book of any standing and he felt that reading it would be an utter waste of time. However, his statement that anyone can make the Bible say whatever they want, is only true if one is prepared to use deceptive means in order to make it appear to do so. There is only one true meaning to what the Bible says.
The whole object in reading the Bible should be to discover what God is saying to us and what we can learn from it; not to seek out devious ways and means of distorting it so that it appears to back up our own ideas and preferences. Notice that verse 17 says that the son of man, Ezekiel, is to join them and they will become one in his hand.
No other book has had such an influence on people throughout the centuries. This verse is informing the reader what must happen before the great tribulation is to occur and neither has occurred. To understand this relationship, one must remember the main source of the Nephite scripture: Apr 13, LDS Scriptures 5 comments. Ezekiel goes on to write God is prophesying through Ezekiel that he will gather his people who have been scattered throughout the nations and that he will bring them back to the land, and make them one kingdom again. Notice that verse 22 says "and one king will be king for all of them.
So, it should be obvious that the sticks which represent the northern and southern kingdoms, were to be united under King David. This has absolutely nothing to do with the Book of Mormon. What blessings are available when we study the Book of Mormon and Bible together as one? Students should identify the following principle: When we study the Bible and the Book of Mormon together, we receive a greater witness that Jesus is the Christ.
How has studying the Book of Mormon and Bible together deepened your knowledge and testimony of Jesus Christ? It may be helpful to clarify that these verses are part of a prophecy by Joseph of Egypt. In these verses Joseph mentioned two books—the book written by the descendants of Joseph is the Book of Mormon, and the book written by the descendants of Judah is the Bible.

What did the angel teach Nephi about the Bible when it was first created? What did the great and abominable church do to the Bible? What happened as a result of the plain and precious teachings of the Lord being removed from the Bible? What would the Lord do to overcome the problems caused by the removal of the plain and precious truths from the Bible?
