This book was such an insight of what it was really like to be a kid from the midwest thrust into WWII. The book covered, with authentic detail and spice, the war training, actual bombing raids and the long, difficult periods in-between raids. The details of being shot down, escape and capture were nail biting. The insight of what it was like to be a prisoner in Germany was eye opening.
