However, I would recommend this tour to everyone. We learned so much, could never have had the satisfaction we had if we tried to do it ourselves. I highly recommend getting a guide, the extra insight you get is worth it. Very well done tour of the islands. Snorkeling was fun and we had plenty of time to mess around and visit the shore. Nothing was really rushed and lunch was nice and light.
Delos was nice to see. Very well preserved ruins that are better than most ruins I have seen all across Europe. The guide we had did a good job summarizing all of the important features and sites. This part was a bit rushed and I wish we had more time between areas. There was also no time to see the museum but the guide showed us enough that it wasn't very important. Make sure you bring towels and swim gear - it is all you need for the trip. Really enjoyed the tour and the visit, the guide gave us alot of information and made our visit very memorable, definitely recommended!
However, I would like to remind to you that your 30' delayed show up was the reason for waiting for our rental car representative and finally that 1 hr delay would have been the duration of our walk through the town. Just like you would have been disappointed if I hadn't been there to pick you up on time, I did not want to disappoint with a delayed show up from my side, my evening Delos guests. His unique tour is full of personal insights and interesting facts and anecdotes that we really appreciated.
We were able to see another side of Mykonos island, that is all the other sides, from east to west, and from north to south, that most tourists don't get to see. Highlights of the car ride tour around the island included a visit to a creamery where we got to try local cheeses, and to a lighthouse on the northeastern tip of Mykonos. Thank you so much for your comments and your wonderful words!
I think our chemistry was the cream of the top. You are great people and you deserve the best! All my Aegean wishes for the rest of your vacations!
Delos is an island in Greece's Cyclades, km southwest of Mykonos. Archaeological sites cover almost the entire island, starting from the harbour at the. The remains of ANCIENT DELOS (Dhílos), the Cyclades' sole UNESCO Heritage Site, manage to convey the past grandeur of this small, sacred isle a few.
My wife and I just took Antonis' Food on Foot tour and we could not have been more pleased. Antonis is extremely knowledgeable about Greek culture and history, and his delivery is quite engaging.
He led us to some special spots to sample delicious local treats, and introduced us to some new types of food. We are glad we chose to take this tour because it enabled us to learn about Mykonos while experiencing the best food it has to offer.
Dear Brendan, thank you so much for your good words! It has been a pleasure to meet and guide you! Our tour of Mykonos was beautiful and informative! We booked a food tour with Antonios that started around 6pm.
He arrived at the hotel on time and was dressed in a bow tie and jacket with a welcoming smile! As we exited the hotel our tour began immediately with some history of the area and an overview of what we would be experiencing that evening. Antonios was enjoyable to listen too and full of valuable information. As the tour progressed it no longer felt like a guided tour, but three new friends talking and sharing personal experiences and stories. The food tour began with appetizers at a family owned store that sold authentic Greek oils, spreads, and olives.
Next we made our way through a maze of streets to a 15th century bakery where they prepared an authentic Greek dish of goat cheese and phyllo hand made and wood stove cooked , then ended our tour at the water front for dinner. The food was amazing and Antonios was very helpful with my various food allergies gluten and lactose free. I never felt left out of the foodie experience due to my allergies!
When the evening ended I felt like I had a new friend and coil call on him at any time!

Own or manage this property? Beware of high prices. Overnight stay on Delos is forbidden. The only "inhabitants" of the island are security personnel and archaeologists. The closest accommodation options are in Mykonos. This city travel guide to Delos is an outline and needs more content. It has a template , but there is not enough information present.
