How I hate those moments, when life - the course of a life lived - hurls itself at me Yesterday, a young man - I've known since he was 6 or 7 years old - took his own life. How I'll grapple with the event itself isn't why I'm writing this though, becaus The NFL free agency scene had some teams throwing cash around like sailors on leave. Miami hit the " gotta wonder what they're thinking " button when they signed Mario While some think less about this key piece in the writing puzzle, it's where the tipping point exists between great works, and the rest.
In an e-mail to a young writer, I tossed him a basic starting point for grappling with Narrative D Sailing In Uncharted Waters What no one knows is Devin has a secret weapon in the form of his multiple-phobia challenged best friend Robin Denton.

While reading Devin Briar, I found myself thinking of Casper comic books and downing mouthfuls of anti acids. If that's your taste, read old Casper comic books instead, because Casper comic storylines have more substance, suspense, plot, and conflict than "Devin Briar". Whether or not, a waitress will serve you chips at your favorite Mexican Food restaurant has infinitely more suspense than this novel.
Like a Casper cartoon, Devin Briar's cast of characters come in two flavors. Goody Good Shoes and melodramatic villains. However, unlike a dastardly bad Snidely Whiplash and Muttley episode, the people who skip, hopscotch, and mumble their lines through Devin Briar's world take themselves seriously, crack unfunny jokes, and are totally unamusing. Character after character blurs, as each one in turn attempts to be witty, polite, and overly nice. How come everybody has the exact same speech pattern?
Morrison, vary your characters speech patterns. Devin is the worse, because he talks the most.
He's the dork dude who thinks he's God's Gift to women But he's not , and the surest way to capture a pretty girl's heart, is to kiss her ass, and compliment her non stop for days on end, and in ways that will make you cringe, and sink in your seat if you ever had to witness it.
