It is not a sin to have epilepsy is it… I have had it my entire life since i have been born over 40 years here… I get 4 different kinds of seizures they have gotten better over the years!!! I get about 7 a month now.. When i was a kid i was getting that many every day.. Atonic Tonic clonic Generized and Grandmal ones i get.. I was on dilantin for about 37 years… They took me off the Dilantin because it kept making my folic acid get real low… And tried me with Keppra but the side effects did not go good at all.. A few months ago put me on Zonegran and Lamicital… They did not diagnose me with it until i was about 2 and a half years old… Because no one ever noticed it they said… They think it was missed because babies eyes move around alot and i did not have my first grandmal until i was 2 and a half years old… I was doa but they brought me back….
But if i have surgery done there is a good chance i will lose my memory and it will not help my seizures so i am not going to take the chance here!!! I have gone 40 plus years and feel i am ok with my memory… For all all i been threw over the years i feel i am in ok shape… But i sure will never give up and stand tall and as proud as ever here until the end. Hi, Very powerful post thank you for sharing.
Can you tell me what verse or chapter explains that sin is sin and that God sees all sin the same. No sin is worse than the other? I think you and the author believe the same thing…that not all sin is equal and I also agree. For example, murder is worse than hate, the physical act of adultery is worse than stealing. All sin is bad and against God but some are certainly worse, no doubt Mandi. Thank you for your comment.
Thank you Shawn for your very good question sir. If you read 1 John it says if we confess our sins, He will forgive us. Jesus prayed while they were nailing Him to the cross, forgive them Father for they do not know what they are doing Luke Let me attempt to offer this explanation, as far as why Jesus had to die to obtain payment for our sins.
First, Jesus was not killed against His will. Therefore it was not humans who took Jesus by surprise and killed Him. He offered Himself up of His own free will. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded. You see Jesus willingly came to die for us. And for our penalty we are all condemned to hell.

That is the justice of God. Man is doomed…that is our predicament…we are all going to hell…you, me and everyone, because we are all sinners. He needed someone to pay for our sin, to satisfy the Father Judge. No, of course not. The judge would not be a good judge if he let you go without paying for your crime. Sin, in the Bible is only forgiven by the sacrifice of shedding blood. I know that sounds creepy, but it is the way of God.
So to get our sins forgiven so we could go to heaven there had to be a sacrifice of blood. It could not be animal blood, or blood from you or me, because we are not perfect. We are tarnished by sin. There had to be a perfect sacrifice, to cover once and for all, the sins of everyone. No one is perfect except God. That is why God was born at Bethlehem in the baby Jesus. He came to do the will of the Father. That will was to die for your sins, so you would not have to go to hell, if you repent of your sin and believe in His death and Resurrection. Here is the reason why it had to be Jesus and not anyone else or any animal sacrifice.
Your answer is found in Hebrews chapter Read both chapter 9 and Here is the pertinent part in Chapter The sacrifices under that system were repeated again and again, year after year, but they were never able to provide perfect cleansing for those who came to worship. But you have given me a body to offer. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds.
Shawn, I pray you will ask God to forgive you of your sins, by turning from them and turning toward Christ Jesus. Believe in Him and what He did for you on the Cross. He willingly sacrificed Himself upon that cross for you Shawn. No one killed Him. He sacrificed Himself for you. Believe in Him and His Resurrection bodily from the grave three days later, and you will be born again. Do this and you will go to heaven when you die and not hell.
Do not forget that love covers many sins. Even if you make mistakes look at the good you do, the love you give, the mercy and compassion you have. This weighs more heavy then faith or righteousness. Appreciate the good you do and have faith in that what you give is worth more then what you do wrong and that it is worth more then your flaws.
Sin is serious to God and should be deeply personal to us. I go to an amazing church and part of an incredible family!!! Here is the link for our churches world wide. Encourage all to visit! The face of the LORD [is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. The man who preaches one side of the gospel or manipulates the true word of good is satan. He did it in genesis with eve and jesus in the 40 day desert journey. I really like what you guys are usually up too. This type of clever work and exposure!
Paul, I was also like you. We are commanded to renew our mind. Continue to read the word of God on areas that you are struggling until they are entrenched in your mind as absolute truths then slowly you will be rid of those sinful habits. There are lies in your mind that need to be replaced by the truths. Masturbation is self sex. We are designed to have sex with our spouses only in the context of marriage. The thought of masturbation will give your flesh gratification that is why you cannot let go of it.
When you start to always filter your mind that masturbation is not good, just the thought of it, it will just go away. We also are commanded to flee from temptation. Thank you for your godly wisdom and counsel to Paul. It is truly spot on the mark my friend.
Hello I am very glade I found this website because I needed to how to be forgiven of my sins. Please I really want to go to heaven and I want them to go to heaven as well. If you can just help me out I would be more then happy. Read, and study His word. The closer you are to God, the less room there is in your life for sin. I, too, am all of the things you mention of yourself in your comment. I have been struggling with porn, masturbation, peeping tom, theft. I believe I have something to offer. I would love to hear what you have to say of my story.
We strive daily to live sinless, but in this body, there is always going to be sin. We repent and ask God to forgive us for the new sins we commit daily, not because we are not already forgiven, but because we are already forgiven, we are constantly trying to please our Lord by being obedient, out of love, not necessity as part of the price of our salvation. Jesus already paid all that.
Please Lord forgive me and help me to overcome these sins. Hello all, God bless you all.
I want to ask a very important question please, is it right for me to say am not a sinner? Please urgent answer needed. Whoever says they are not a sinner should be already in heaven because all sin. So, not it is not right to say you are not a sinner. The Bible never says anywhere that believers are not sinners.
Saved, but still prone to sin, however over time, we should be sinning less, but never sinless this side of heaven. I am worried because I know that I have not been able to remember each and every incident so that I can then get forgiveness and cleansed of all the unrighteousness that I have committed.
I need serious answers please and thank you. I would call your pastor. The Bible says if we repent and forsake our sins and trust in Christ we will be saved. Trust the Word and not your feelings. He was a unique and interesting man. Vernon McGee as speaker. No one can mistake that voice. We listened to him every day when we were starting our family in those days.

They are maturing some time around the ages of 11, 12, or And on the other end of adolescence, their schooling has been lengthened.
College education is now the equivalent of a high school education a generation ago. There was a time when a sixth grade education was all that was necessary to get by; then it was high school, and now, college. Fewer are getting married as early as before; and so the unmarried period during which this desire is strong and for males possibly the strongest has been lengthened, causing intensified difficulty. It was hard enough to endure that period in an abbreviated form, but now it is even more difficult to do so.
Paul says that a Christian must not let anything gain the mastery over him.
But counselors regularly see young people Christian youth who are so tangled up in the masturbation problem that they hardly can think about anything else but sex all day long. And the more they engage in masturbation, the more they depend upon it, the more they want it, and the more they feed it. And the more they feed it, the more they are trapped by it. They are caught up in one big vicious circle. Masturbation can gain such a tenacious control over them that it saps their energies, takes their minds away from their studies, and sets them to thinking about sex everywhere they go and with every person they see.
Masturbation is a serious problem, much more serious than many may think. Children, therefore, often need help in dealing with this problem. Because of the meagre public and private discussion that is devoted to the subject of masturbation, it is easy for counselors to forget their own adolescent problem and for them to minimize its importance. But just because the problem of masturbation is not discussed often in society does not mean that it is not an explosive problem.
As an additional complication, our society uses sex commercially on every billboard, in every magazine, and as a part of nearly every television program. Everywhere women dress provocatively because that is what the billboards, magazines, and TV dictate. Counselors must realize that young men have an exceedingly difficult time. Now look at a second principle that is found in Matthew 5: There Jesus said that it is not just the outward act of adultery that God is concerned about, but that God also considers the inward thought-and-consent of the heart to be adultery.
A child who becomes tangled up in the masturbation spiral eventually cannot avoid becoming involved in this sin as well. In a very young child masturbation may be only exploratory, but before long it gets plugged into fantasizing about sexual relations with imagined sexual partners. Jesus said that this is sin. Adultery of the heart, He said, is just like hatred, which is murder in the heart. To kill with a knife or a gun is not the only way to become guilty of murder before God.
It is better for the other fellow, of course, if one murders him only in the imagination, but it is no better for the murderer in the sight of God. The same holds true for adultery. The third factor that must be considered in any discussion of masturbation is that it is not presented as Herbert J. Miles wrongly supposes as a biblical option.
There is no third option. Paul does not say that masturbation is a proper relief for sexual desire burning. Paul knew, of course, that which everyone who practices masturbation discovers sooner or later: Lastly, masturbation is clearly wrong since it constitutes a perversion of the sexual act. In I Corinthians 7: In sex, as elsewhere, it is always true that it is more blessed to give than to receive.
Self-directed sex, therefore, constitutes an unlawful use of sexuality. These two fundamental factors clearly forbid masturbation as a biblically legitimate release of sexual tension. Lewis speaks out on Masturbation A while back someone submitted a question to me about masturbation and whether it was sinful or not. There is also a thread in the forum about masturbation , through only one person has attempted an answer on it….
So as I was recently reading through the Letters of C. Lewis struggled with the temptation of masturbation, and 2 he had a pretty good theological answer for it. For me the real evil of masturbation would be that it takes an appetite which, in lawful use, leads the individual out of himself to complete and correct his own personality in that of another and finally in children and even grandchildren and turns it back: And this harem, once admitted, works against his ever getting out and really uniting with a real woman.
For the harem is always accessible, always subservient, calls for no sacrifice or adjustments, and can be endowed with erotic and psychological attractions which no real woman can rival. Among these shadowy brides he is always adored, always the perfect lover: In the end, they become merely the medium through which he increasingly adores himself.
And it is not only the faculty of love which is thus sterilized, forced back on itself, but also the faculty of imagination. The true exercise of imagination, in my view, is a To help us to understand other people b To respond to, and, some of us, to produce art. But it has also a bad use: Masturbation involves this abuse of imagination in erotic matters which I think bad in itself and thereby encourages a similar abuse of it in all spheres. After all, almost the main work of life is to come out of our selves, out of the little, dark prison we are all born in.
Masturbation is be avoided as all things are to be avoided which retard this process. The danger is that of coming to love the prison Lewis, Yours, Jack , The evidence seems to be that God sometimes works such a complete metamorphosis and sometimes not. God forbid we should presume it went my merit.
He never in my unmarried days did it for me. He gave me—at least and after many ups and down, the power to resist the temptation so far as the act was concerned. He never stopped the recurrent temptations, nor was I guarded from the sin of mental consent. I mean that I sometimes fell into it, grace or no. One may, I suppose, regard this as partly penal. One my also regard it as a tribulation, like any other. The great discovery for me was that the attack does not last forever.
We must be relieved , not horrified, by the fact that the whole thing is humiliating, undignified, ridiculous; the lofty vices would be far worse. Nor must we exaggerate our suffering. In a word, no melodrama.
The sin, if we fall into it, must be repented, like all our others. The temptation is a darn nuisance, to be born with patience as long as God wills. Sadness is also a danger: Love of every sort is a guard against lust, by a divine paradox, sexual love is a guard against lust.
No woman is more easily and painlessly abstained from from, if need be, than the woman one loves. I mean that the absence of ordinary female society provokes the normal appetite Lewis, Yours, Jack , So what are your thoughts? Lewis right about what he says regarding masturbation? Feel free to comment anonymously! Meet Tim and Aileen Challies. Tim is a pastor and author. In other words, do not allow yourself to feel guilty if you have by the old man's compulsion within you committed masturbation Rom 7: In other words, avoid the lustful look towards a woman or a man or any image that arouses you to think sexually.
Initially we are unskilled in the Word of God and as babes in Christ we have an inadequate sense of discerning good and evil, unskillful in the word of righteousness and thus a tendency to sin easily Heb.
Praise God that we do not stay as young men forever, but move on to become as a spiritual Father which is the stage of full maturity to handle the Word of God and stay by the power of God's word in the full measure of the stature of Christ by virtue of the knowledge of Him gained by our close experiential relationship with Him 2 Pet 1: When you meditate with your mind the word of God daily and constantly all the time Joshua 1: Through developing the habit of meditating the Word of God constantly, you are on the way to be freed from any bondage's that are trying to keep you in control.
All those who meditate on the Word of God will prosper in every areas of their life Psa 1: Prosperity of such kind that is Biblical, starts with the spiritual aspect first and then moves in to soulish, physical, social, financial and in every areas of human existence 3 John 1: The bottom line I suggest to overcome the habit of pornography and masturbation that follows it, think rightly in God's way regarding these thing. Call a spade a spade. Call a sin a sin. No less, no more. First you accept that the habit of pornography and masturbation that follows it might seem less intense sin before your own eyes or others, but before the eyes of God it is equally sinful as any other sin that he hates and judges.
Pornography is a spiritual sin of the spirit, that leads us in to physical sin of the flesh which is masturbation. So once we believe rightly and meditate upon the Word of God to think regarding sin, we will believe rightly to break out of the bondage of these above sins easily by the grace of God. Even if it takes times, do not give up, because to stay free from Satan's demonic bondage's, we need to keep believing rightly regarding sin and the Son who frees us from it 1 John 5: God in Christ Jesus has forgiven all our sins once and for all time John 8: Your beliefs become your thoughts.
Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits. Your habits become your values. Your values become your destiny. You fulfilling the God given destiny for yourself cannot go higher than what you believe in your heart. Think right and live great! Consume the medicine of a lot of the word of God by reading or hearing it, allow it to work within by thinking or meditating upon it, and then finally when the power of the Word of God consumes you, you will be set free in the liberty of the Spirit which Jesus has purchased for you by giving His very own life.
