In all honesty I loved the book which is why I gave it four stars. The only reason I didn't give it the fifth star is because I would've liked a more detailed description of the character's looks.
Everything else about the book was really great and creative! From the beginning it grabbed my attention and held it until the very last page. I would definitely recommend this book to someone else to read. In the future I can't wait to read more from If it isn't love is a trying tale of love and life. In the future I can't wait to read more from this author! Jan 05, Shani Greene-Dowdell rated it it was amazing. First is Kat and Dante's story of what, I guess, one could call love, but if you let Kat explain the relationship she'd call it a business arrangement.
He's rich, she's glamorous Dante is happy and waiting anxiously for the day to make Kat his wife, but what he hasn't been introduced to yet is her insatiable appetite for a new man or woman for that matter per day! Her promiscuity coupled with the guard around her heart will lead to an interesting day at the alter that not even the trickster of all tricksters could have predicted. Next, Tamia's story is one of love gone too soon when she loses James the night their son was born, fourteen years ago. A tragic near-death experience will reunite Tamia with James in a world between earth and heaven, and she will fight tooth and nail to make their reunion last forever.
It's not until their son Semaj redeems his mother and needs her support desperately that she will consider leaving. And now for my favorite character Vatyra has tasted the sweetest love that a man can give a woman, but when things get too hot and heavy, Kevin's cold feet send him running away from love. Before he can give himself to her the way she unselfishly gives to him, he has to be sure. A few years later, the same feet that took him running away, will return him to seek the happiness only Vatyra can give him, but love doesn't come easy, especially when there's a crazy woman that will stop at nothing to "make him" hers.
Junnita Jackson's debut novel is an authentic start of her writing career.
While some of the situations sound typical, the way she develops the story and the plot twists are definitely far from typical. The book started out kind of rocky for me as I was unsure after reading the first chapter if it was going to be read like a lot of books where the author thinks sex and a pooty mouth over the top main character is enough to hold the reader. I soon found out that was just the main character, Kat's, way of life.
My love is my pen and my journal. Tell me I can call And I can come by How can I send you letters I can't write You know me I'm not good with goodbyes I can't see when the lights out Don't say it ain't love When it's love still Don't say it don't work When it's working Love doesn't hurt if it's not real Nobody can hurt like we did My lungs they just burn And I can't breath There's no way to turn So I stand still Love doesn't hurt if it's not real Nobody can hurt like we did Nobody can hurt like we did Nobody can hurt like we did Nobody can hurt like we did Nobody can hurt like we did. If It Don't Hurt Jan 21, Tonni "Kim" Brown rated it it was amazing. No trivia or quizzes yet. Jan 29, Michelle rated it liked it. Alice's parents had left for a function in Seattle after our graduation, leaving us the house to ourselves knowing that Alice would throw a graduation party, without explicitly saying it or forbidding it.
However, when Tamia's point of view comes into play in chapter two, and then especially when Vatyra's story was told, I was refreshed with how the story began to unfold. There was good character development with good background information provided throughout the book. I would be remiss if I did not mention minor editing mishaps here and there in the book, that definitely did not take away from the flow and my enjoyment of reading the book.

I won a copy of this book from a contest the author held on her Facebook page. Dec 31, Joyce Mannarino rated it it was ok Recommended to Joyce by: I received this book as a first read. This book was a little harsh to start off we meet the first character as she is in the middle of being pleasured by her fiance with her lovers in the closet watching. I wasn't totally sure I would make it through this book and after the "trifling" of the women it picked up the pace. This book starts with 3 friends and the problems in their lives whether it be kids, men or lack of and jobs.
It takes a little getting used to the way the author sets up each c I received this book as a first read. It takes a little getting used to the way the author sets up each chapter as another characters point of view but in the end it gives you an all around vision. In the end I did feel for the characters as they felt loss, happiness and others deserved what they had coming.
